Artist Statment
As I present my paintings to the world, I hope they will summon forth liminality or a threshold of thought as they honor the metaphor of “Crossing the Water." This consolidation of my work bound together with crossing the waters of the Salish Sea, Puget Sound, and the strait of Juan de Fuca are what my paintings have tried to capture.
Within my artist psyche there is an integration of Color, Intensity, and Memory, with a deliberate method in apparent disorder. Quality thoughts even though they might be ambiguous or disorientating. Perhaps stimulating another side of your brain.
In a recent dream, I was conversing with a Dutch man, on a canal. He lived on a houseboat on the water. He encouraged and affirmed my work. This is an example of where my psyche takes me and how psyche works through me.
I feel very blessed and grateful to share my work with you.
